2007 National Youth Leadership Training another Smash
Success
Dear Butte District Scouters:
Our ORE-IDA council National Youth Leadership training
program wrapped up another successful year training
almost sold out classes for Weeks One and Week Two at
Camp Morrison.
NYLT which many veterans remember as Baden Powell is
called my many Wood Badge for Teenagers.
Your Butte District was well represented again for this
year. Not only did Butte send several youth leaders,
but yours truly delivered a training program on oral
presentation skills for the youth leadership corps the
night before the candidates for Week One arrived.
As you know the NYLT Senior Youth Staff is made up of
Scouts most of whom have attained the rank of First
Class, Star, Life and Eagle Scout. This staff teachers
advanced leadership skills via classroom and field
excercises during this challenging and exciting week
long program during which all live and work in the wilds
of a primitive camp site in a remote location of Camp
Morrison.
Check the Council Website as July draws near in 2008 and
reserve a slot for your unit's up and coming leaders.
