Squaw Butte District Scouting For Food

Scouting For Food 2009

Thanks to all who participated in this event. The Emmett area collected 5,000 lbs of food (3500 lbs in 2008) which stays in the community

To claim your area for Scouting For Food, do the following:
1. Click on the map below.
2. Click on the colored balloon icon in the area you would like to see if it is already reserved for the current year.
3. If not reserved, send an email to George Van Leuven indicating which area you would like.
* You can zoom in and out by using the zoom bar on the left side of the map or by rolling the roller on your mouse (be careful to move the roller one click at a time!).
* You should be able to move the map by clicking the left mouse button on the map and dragging to center the area you have reserved.
* Once enlarged to fill the screen and centered in the screen area, you should be able to print a map of your area.
* If your area is larger than your unit can cover, please request a boundary change.
* All areas on the map are starting points and can be split up into more areas as needed. If any areas next to the one you want are already reserved, you will need to click on the colored icon in each area, contact the person who is listed as the area contact and work with them in asking if their area boundries can be modified/adjusted.
* Map areas with a shopping bag icon on it indicate the area is reserved. Areas with a flag icon on it indicate the area is available.
* Once you have a list of roads bordering your requested area and permission for any changes that affect bordering reserved areas, contact George Van Leuven 365-2612 who will then make the boundary changes and/or make a new area as needed.

The following unit(s) have committed to help count and stock food as it is brought in to the food drop-off location which is the Expo Building at the Gem County Fairgrounds (1st building when going into the Fairgounds). Contact George Van Leuven 365-2612 to commit your unit.
